Help us decide where to go!
DH and I want to take a really great vacation next summer. We did Alaska last summer and LOVED it. We've been to many places in the Caribbean, too.
Where should we go? We're totally open to anything, so if anyone can suggest a place that they LOVED, please do!!

I HIGHLY recommend the Polynesian Islands (Tahiti, Moorea & Bora Bora). We had our honeymoon there and it is truly paradise!

If you liked Alaska, why not try Scandinavia? I have been to Finland and Estonia and loved it during summer solstice.
What about South Africa? That has always been my favourite holiday spot.
Or for something completely different...Japan. I went there a few months ago and it was amazing.

I have to disagree with Finland, but give a big YES to Estonia. Scandanavia was a terrible disappointment for me. But the Baltic countries of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania are ADORABLE. Small, cheap, gorgeous, clean, DELIGHTFUL. Everyone was so kind, the food and beer were great, and it was just all around fun!

Oh me too!! Shanghai is still in my top 3 cities in the world to visit. It is a FANTASTIC city. Tokyo is cool too. .Hong Kong, not so much.
Im trying to plan another Asian adventure for the spring... thinking about Malaysia/Singapore/Thailand and Vietnam.

We flew direct from Newark to Lisbon on Continental...then we went straight to this little beach town 40 minutes outside Lisbon (Cascais), then drove down to the Algarve area and stayed at the beach (Lagos), then went back to Lisbon and did the sightseeing thing. It was an awesome mix of beach/city vacation. We rented an apartment for three nights in Lisbon which was great. The food was amazing, almost everyone spoke english (although I did the Portuguese tapes before I left so I picked up a little bit). We both loved it and would go back in a heartbeat.

California! We drove the coast, went to Napa/Sonoma, Monterey, San Diego- it was awesome!! We stayed in B&B's along the way and it was perfect.
We also want to do Europe, although the dollar is so weak over there right now that it would cost too much!!

I was going to ask if you guys had been to Hawaii yet too. I'm not sure if it's the kind of trip you're looking for this time around, but definitely put it on the to-do list! You can't go wrong with Hawaii. It's one of the only vacations we'd do again and again, given the chance!

my favorites are New Zealand, Australia and Italy. I also loved italy, paris and switzerland.
the greek islands and turkey were also reallygreat.
if i were bookign a trip now i would go to thailand b/c i havent been to that part of the world.

Italy has my vote... as well as Paris!!
Not sure how old you are, but I took a solo tour in Italy with people ages 21-38. It was Trafalgar's Breakaway Tour. Had a blast. 1/2 the bus was divorced women in their 30s and the other half honeymooners. It was a great mix!
We did 12 days in Italy... my favorite... dinner in the Chianti Hills. LOTS of wine. Lots of laughs. and LOTS of singing!

Last summer we went to Yosemite. What a great time, so much to see. It really is the amusement park of national forests...totally set up for tourism.
We rented a great cabin in Wawona.
I want to visit a dude ranch next.

Why didn't you like Finland? I had a bad experience b/c of the people I went with, but I loved the country. Summer solstice is the time to go, IMO.
