As much as you love your pediatrician....
do you still question him when it comes to your DC.
I love Paige's ped. but i cant help but always wonder if he is right. I mean this is my child. I am super paranoid when it comes to her. I took Paige to the dr. yesterday because it seemed as she had a bad cold, which gave her a cough.
In 9 months i never heard her cough like that at all. But yesterday the doctor listened to her lungs, looked at her throat and looked at her ears. All of them were fine. He told me it was just teething related. She is teething of course, but she just cut 2 teeth so i thought that the symptoms would have gone somewhat away.
Now, im questioning whether he is right or not.

If you mean that I ask him and then modify what he says sometimes, then yes, I question him
I usually am ok with what he tells us, plus he was my ped growing up and I survived, and he is pretty laid back, so I am usually happy with him.

My ped has gone above and beyond for us in the past year....he always listens, never pressures and takes everything seriously (never said the words "teeething related" to me)

Re: As much as you love your pediatrician....
I don't question very much because we are almost always on the same page.
I've heard the expression "they cough their teeth out". Almost everything gets chalked up to teething but I haven't heard it from my ped.
It may be a cold & not related to teething at all. The important thing is that he checked her lungs & they were clear. If the cough changes to a wheeze or barking cough, go back again. A cold can stay just a cold or it can turn into something more serious.
Go with your gut always.
Hope she's better soon!

I think it is smart to question because you know more about your DC then they do. You should look into whatever they tell you if you have any doubts. You don't need to be negative toward the doctor, but, if you think they may be wrong/mistaken about something, you have to talk to them about it.

I dont question mine. I believe what he tells me to be correct...I need to believe him, or else I would drive myself insane questioning every little thing. I will trust him fully until he proves me otherwise.
