Re: What did you do for DC'S Baptism?
Had over 70 people back to our house for a party. I wanted to keep it small, but, my family is huge! It was all family except for maybe 3 friends.
DS's 1st Bday will be just immediate family or I may break it down into 2 parties. It's a Jan. bday, so, it will be tough. Im not going to go crazy though.

Re: What did you do for DC'S Baptism?
We had over 100 people at the George Washington Manor- a sit down dinner in the Mount Vernon room. we also had Twinkle Town come for 1 1/2 hr.s and I hired a professional photographer for 5 hours to take pics at home, church and dinner party.
It was money all well spent.
do what is best for you, anything you do will be a great memory, just take lots of pictures.

Re: What did you do for DC'S Baptism?
We rented out a room at a restaurant and then had eveyone back to our house afterwards.
We only did family which came to about 30 people. If we stated inviting friends it would have been too high a number.

Re: What did you do for DC'S Baptism?
We had a party at Singletons. We invited 96 and had about 70 people there. We went back and forth about what to do also. We decided to do very close friends and family. We have some friends and family we don't get to see very often and wanted them to share in Haleys day.
Do what you can afford? Don't go broke trying to give a big christening. Some people do either a big christening or big first birthday. Maybe if finances allow you could do the big birthday instead.

Re: What did you do for DC'S Baptism?
I took my whole immediate family out to dinner.
Honestly, it cost more than a party would have because we went to a fairly expensive restaurant.
How aobut just doing a nice dinner at your house?

Re: What did you do for DC'S Baptism?
We are renting the clubhouse in the community where we live. It was real cheap. And we are inviting family and a few close friends, that's it.

We are having a party at DH's firehouse after the church. So far we are up to 55 adults and 9 children and are still waiting for a lot of people to RSVP

Re: What did you do for DC'S Baptism?
On the day of the christening, we went to brunch down the street from the church with grandparents, godparents and DH's brothers.
A few weeks later we had a party for my extended family in my parent's backyard. Maybe 35 people or so.

We are having it at a restaurant. Immediate family only. But, our immediate family is 55 adults and 17 kids.
If we did friends - the total would have easily doubled. I decided to have a huge first birthday instead.
This is the issue we are having. DH's family is huge and it would be weird not to invite his cousins...
Add the 27 kids in and well it becomes hard.
We are leaning towards our original idea of private room at a Buffet place.
I would liek to keep it smaller but its in Nov. and cant do it outside and we have really no ones hosue big enough in close close family to host.
Thank you all for all the comments, it helps!
