I used to be a cashier and tons of people do this and when I asked for their ID they couldnt believe I read it! One time a gy didnt have his ID and I wouldnt take it. He got soooo mad at me and yelled. Then he took it and signed it over the CID I was like ummmm I still need your license! He went home and got it. JERK!
But I do it and no one checks it is annoying but whatever I still do it

Yes, I write "Please ask for ID" on my CC. Although, most cashiers never ask anyway.. nice right?

My sister did that, and they sometimes still don't check her ID. My signature keeps wearing off, and they almost never ask me for ID either.

I write ask for ID on all my cc's but I realized this past week no one cares. I used my DH's business card all week and no one even noticed the name on the card could not have been a female name.

I also think it's a state by state thing. DH and I were in Tennessee and they ask to see your driver's license everytime you use your CC. I was very happy about that.
