Glucose test - do i have to fast
Do i have to fast before i go in for the 1 hour? Dr. didn't mention it and I can't remember from #1 - does anyone know?

I was told to eat like I normally do...
Don't think you have to fast, but I definitely suggest NOT eating a chocolate chocolate chip muffin before you take it!!!!
(that was the mistake I made and failed the 1 hour!)

It's not necessary but you should fast if you can. It's a screening test so even if you're blood sugar is just a little bit high, they will make you do the 3 hr test.
IS your test in the morning?

Well, I didn't eat after 9:30pm, and my test was at 7:40am the next morning and I failed...but my SIL (obgyn) said I should have eaten a little something first like a peice of toast. She even said that even 1/2 a banana would have been OK to eat (I didnt question her even though I was thinking really? so much sugar in a banana!??)...but she said I should of had something....meanwhile, my Dr. didn't tell me to fast nor did he tell me to eat something.
IDK if it matters...I wish now I would have eaten something b/c now I'm doomed for the 3hr test.
Who knows...I don't understand why there is so much confusion about this!!!! It really urks me!!!

I think they told me to stop eating a few hours before. I am so scared I probably won't eat at all that morning.

My dr. didn't say anything...I stopped eating the night b4 after 10 or so & my appt was 11 the next am. I passed by 5 pts....close..
No matter what don't drink OJ...they said its loaded in sugar & watch your pasta/carbs the day b4, they turn into sugar

Same here both times. You should def ask your doc since this answer will vary from doc to doc.

I just got my instruction sheet -
it says after midnight - do not eat anything that contains sugar
in the morning - definitely eat breakfast. they suggest a bagel or a piece of toast (no jam, only butter or cream cheese).

No, the lab said it depends on your doctor but I didnt fast for the 1 hr but I had to for the 3 hr.
