We take our dog to Davis Park. He's allowed to go off leash without any questions.....

Re: Beach that allows dogs?
This weekend when we were in NY we took Bella to Gardners Park in Bayshore. There is a long trail that takes you to the bay, and a little beach, you can let your dog off leash and go swimming, there were tons of dogs there when we went, and Bella had a blast! Here are some picturesHere is the website Image Attachment(s):

Re: Beach that allows dogs?
Take the Robert Moses Causeway to Montauk Highway (Route 27A) and go east. The park entrance is about 1/2 mile east of the parkway on the south side of Montauk Highway. It's a nice park and there are a lot of trails to walk on. Just make sure you have a leash as the dogs are supposed to be on leash in the park.
ETA: We take Misty to Smith Point - I'm not a huge fan of Gardiner's Beach area cuz those reeds are all growing up and they can cut the dogs paws. Image Attachment(s):

Yeah, we go after work and walk her off leash down the east end of the beach. This time of year, we'll go back to the Beach Hut after and listen to the music for a while with Misty on the leash. It's a nice night.

Re: Beach that allows dogs?
Thanks! I lived in Fl for 2 years and took my mom's dog to the beaches there and loved it. I will definitly try these. I LOVE the pics of your dog at the beach. They look so happy playing in the water and the sand.

We take the dogs to Cherry Grove on Fire Island. We even take them to Grove Pizza- they are welcome on the outdoor deck. Just a heads up- it is predominantly gay and clothing is optional. If you are fine with that then I highly recommend it!

Love Fire Island! Had a summer share there a few years back So much fun. Thanks! I think I will keep my clothes ON though LOL Kidding. I am cool with it there is another place like that near Robert Moses that I have seen when I was going to the lighthouse. Thanks again for the doggie beaches!!!

The only one I know of on the North Shore is Coindre Hall - but they do enforce leash laws there so make sure the dog is leashed down to the water and back.
