The hooter hider...
Hi ladies!
I was wondering if any of you have heard of/have the hooter hider?

My co-worker was raving about it and I wanted to get something different for my friends shower (I am chipping in on a gift and want to get something separate).
Any thoughts, suggestions, other things you could NOT live without?

The bigger the blanket the more attention you draw to yourself. That is my opinion.
There was a new mom in Buy Buy Baby BF'ing her really tiny newborn. She was walking while BF and you could hardly tell what she was doing.

They're pretty! I tried to use one of these covers early on, but not only did my DD not like being covered, I felt like it just drew more attention. I usually wear a stretchy tank under whatever shirt I'm wearing, then I pull my shirt up and the top of the tank down. I don't expose any skin except a little boob and that all gets covered by baby head, so no one can see anything at all. It's much less obvious than having a tent draped over you. That's just my opinion. I know some people are just more comfortable with a nursing cover. The bebe au lait ones do come in very nice patterns and that is the brand I would choose if I used a cover.

I agree with the others. I actually found nursing in a sling to be the most discreet way to nurse. Maybe she would like one of those? Check out this site.

It is large, but I love the rigid neckline design. And honestly, how small can it effectively be??? This is a product that they are planning, I'm sure to grow w/your baby. While a recieving blanket might work the first week you are home, the baby will soon become larger and you need a bigger cover in order to give the baby room for air to circulate.
IMO, the Bebe au Lait is something I could see myself using for the entire time I choose to BF.

i had one of these and it didn't work well. my ds didn't like being covered and would pull on the material and expose everything anyway. also even though it's a very lightweight fabric, he seemed to get sweaty under there being covered up (this was during the summer).

To answer the other question.....I could not live without my boppy, Iknow that's not an exciting and different gift though. Do you know if she's having a girl? You could make her one of these...

I know someone that has one and used it and liked it. It wasn't something I had though.
ETA: she told me that she used it and liked it b/c it kept her from feeling too self concious about her weight more so than just the bfing itself I guess.

Thanks for all the input ladies! I talked to my friend the other day and turns out she's not sure if she'll be BFing. She is going to try but will not do it for more than 2 months due to her schedule at work and she claims she won't do it out in public.
Debbie what is that a pictures of? hair clips on a string? She is having a

Azad, it's a picture frame that I removed the glass, matted with pink paper and hot glued white ribbon on to clip little baby hair clips onto. It keeps them from being all over the place. It was pretty simple to make!
