Leaving to go to the OB/GYN...........
I will be doing the walk of shame to the scale. My belly has popped out a lot-
Anyone else have/had weigh in anxiety
ETA- I haven't been eating so bad, the whole 1st trimester all I could keep down or crave was carbs.
I am trying to be more balanced this trimester

Re: Leaving to go to the OB/GYN...........
I have it at home! I was fine until I gained 6lbs in like, A WEEK!?, ok maybe it was more like 2-3 weeks but I've never seen my scale say the weight it says now so its a little shocking...but then I think, well, I am growing a human being here!!
speaking of, I could go for an italian hero right about now!

Never had weigh in anxiety.
You are pregnant!! You shouldn't worry about weight gain unless your doctor tells you there is an issue.
Enjoy this time and forget about counting calories, etc.

dont worry about it. If you and the baby are healthy, then keep doing what you are doing. there's always next month to make better decisions in your snacking.

Re: Leaving to go to the OB/GYN...........
I have major weigh-in anxiety because I had gained weight before the pregnancy. I hate it I'm only up 4 lb. but I go on 5/1 so we'll see!

Re: Leaving to go to the OB/GYN...........
You know what I do? I LIE TO MY DOCTOR!!!!!
I weigh myself every tuesday at around 7am. . . my appointments are almost always on tuesdays and when I get there (for a 1pm appointment) they have me give a urine sample and weigh myself, then tell the nurse the number - then she writes it down and eventually the doctor finds out.
I was totally being honest in the beginning but around thanksgiving my doctor made a comment that I had gained too much in a month (rather than his recommended 4 pounds - I had gained 6 pounds). I was so angry and sad about it that I just figured - oh hell, if he's gonna let me weigh myself in a private room, he cant possibly think I'm going to be honest about it! (and dont even get me started about how my appointments are usually at 1pm - my fat time of day - I've just had lunch!!!!)
So after I weigh myself nude in the morning - I keep a weight gain chart. Then when I go to the doctor's office I minus 5 pounds from my 'real' number.
so the doctor thinks I've gained 28 pounds in 37 weeks - truth is - I've gained 33. I've started to lose weight this week - so maybe by the end I'll lose some pounds and will give my 'real' number - but do I feel badly about it?
NOT A BIT!!!!! I'm growing a person right now and if my male doctor is going to quibble over a few pounds, then a little deception will only improve our relationship!

Re: Leaving to go to the OB/GYN...........
just FYI - If you gain a lot in a short period the doctor will probably want to look at other signs of preeclempsia - don't feel bad about it - it might be out of your control and a medical issue.
