Re: Ear Peircing
We're not going to do it until DD asks for them. I knew someone who's young DD kept swallowing the earrings (she thinks... they kept going missing... ). I don't think she used baby-appropriate earrings, though. We're too paranoid after that to get them for her until she's older.

Re: Ear Peircing
i had dd's ears pierced when she was 3 months old and they got infected. we tried again at 8 months old and the same thing happened. and her pediatrian did it so its not like we took her to any old place. so now we are waiting till shes much older. its not worth it. but thats just my dd. 99% of other moms had no problem getting their dd;s ears pierced. just mine, LOL.

Re: Ear Peircing
I got DD ears done at 3 months as soon as the doctor said ok.
I have a now 10 year old step-daughter. When she was 8, she wanted her ears pierced...so for her birthday, that's what we did. UGH...what a nightmare from the begging. I told her it would hurt a little....but boy did she scream and it took almost an hour to let the girl do the second ear Then...she always complained when it was time to clean them and turn them. After about 3 months, she wanted to take the earrings out, and now the holes are just about closed. I told her she can get them pierced again when she is 18 and old enough to sign the consent form herself I'm very glad I got DD ears done so early...she was very easy going about it and now they are almost perfectly healed and they look so darn cute!
ETA: She only cried for a minute or two...I gave her a bottle while they did it to distract her. I got them done at the doctor's office.

Re: Ear Peircing
I think we're going to do it at her 4-month check-up. I'm extremely nervous about it...

Re: Ear Peircing
We got her's done a week after her 4 mth appt.
She cried for about 5 minutes if that. She cried worse for her shots the week before.
i don't regret my decision and I don't feel that I hurt her.
