So mad at our oil company
I get a letter in the mail today from our oil company that I owe $768, because I haven't paid our last 2 invoices. The reason I haven't paid them is because we have been on a budget plan for the past 2 years and I had them taking the money out of my account each month.
So I call them up and they tell me that they have no record of my budget plan and they have no bank account in their computer that they are supposed to be taking money out of. I am like ***....
So I tell them I have been paying like this for over a year....which is true. I checked my bank account after the call and it seems that they haven't taken money out of my account since july.
Then I ask when our new rate is supposed to start, and she tells me she doesnt think I filled my required 800 gallons yet. 2 weeks ago we spoke to them and they said the next fill up will be at the new rate. So they are confused.
I am so tired of this oil company and I am ready to just cancel everything and find another company. This company sucks.

I feel your pain. We had a somewhat similar problem with our last oil company. We left them in utter disgust early in the year. I can't really recommend our new company because we haven't been with them long enough and I'm sure we won't have to be with them too much longer before they do something similar. I'm a little jaded and am beginning to wonder if they all do business that way.

I believe that they are all like this. Once they get you into a contract they really dont care about you anymore.

We're using slomins right now and cannot stand them!!! I recommend Rocklyn my parents used them and am telling DH to switch over to them

Ugh...sorry that must be so frustrating! We have a contract with Petro also and are very happy with them. I had an issue over the summer where my burner was smelling weird, and they had someone over here to look at it within a few hours.

go to roosevelt field mall. SLomins has a kiosk there and they are signing people up cheap.

i think it's in everyones best interest to change companies every year... i think you get the best rates that way.

We use Abalene,and i LOVE them. They are a family company. VERY friendly, nice and efficient. They got us a great price on our new oil burner too. And you can use them for plumbing issues - you get priority as a contracted customer.
And on a snowy Sunday night, just after we got our new boiler, our CO detector went off and we were freaking out - we called them and they were over quickly to assure us it was a false alarm. No charge either. 
I'm sory that your company is jerking you around like this. 
Editing to say... I just read your reply and Abalene does treat their contracted customers better than their non!

Sorry to hear about your troubles. We've been with Slomins for 2 years and are happy. Prior to that we were with General (I think they are in Plainview) and before that was Meenan.

This I definitely agree with. I found the General technicians were better than the guys I had with Slomins.
But their customer service is pretty bad. I try not to call them.
Also I am not a fan of balanced billing either. Too many headaches to be worth it.
I prefer to just pay my oil when I get the bill, and I pay the bill on General's website with a credit card so I get my 2% CC cash back. It adds up!

I know about Affordable. The only reason we used General again was because the rate was good and we had a free contract. This will be the last year.

Ya know...I didn't even finish ready your post and I KNEW you were going to say GENERAL!
I HATE them and have nothing but issues with them. I am not with them anymore and I am still dealing with the BS, because of their mix up. They pulled the SAME exact thing with me.
They are horrible..customer service is a JOKE. Switch..don't renew with them!

let me tell you what happened to my neighbor about 2 weeks ago with GENERAL- they did a delivery- stupid ( the guy) -spilled oil yes oil a lot on her flower bed and lawn- well 2 guys showed up to clean it fast- they could get super fined for that. the smell of oil lasted a week!

Spoke to General today after receiving our contract in the mail and they realized they were in the wrong, and set up my budget and monthly payments back up. In July I will cancel them
