Please help a TTCer...
So I am just starting TTC this month. So far we BD on CD 10 and CD 12. I overheard it was better to BD every other day as opposed to everyday because there is a risk of sperm depletion. So we were planning on BD CD 14 and CD 16 and then probably taking a break on the frequency.
As you are all pros now..or at least succeeded since PG...can you please shared your BD schedule the month you got preggo :)
Thanks!

Re: Please help a TTCer...
CD: 12, 14, 16, 17, 18, 20, 21, 22
Possibly CD 15 as well but I can't remember.
I ovulated on CD 21... so CD 18, 20, 21, 22 were the most important for me.
you should everyother day until the day before you O... then everday for about 3 to 4 days straight right at O time.

We practically everyday.. I had asked my RE if that was ok and he said yes.. I don't think anything would've compromised my DH's sperm b/c his count was over 60 million But we did TTC for 10 minths before I got pregnant w/ this one... Good Luck!!!! I hope you get yor BFP soon!!!!

We CD 6, 7, 10, 11, 13 (got smiley on opk), and 14. I thought we were out this cycle because I was nervous we didn't bd enough or at the right time but it worked.

So I guess you never worried about "over doing it" or depleting sperm...researched online and seems should do every other day...oh the debate..to BD or not to BD tonight haha

Well we basically did every other day until I knew I was ovulating from the CBEFM. We threw one extra day in on cd 17. With the CBEFM you get 0-2 high days before 2 peak (ovulating days), followed by 1 more high day. This last cycle I had 1 high then 2 peak then 1 high. I made sure I hit my first high and then 2 peak ovulation days as those are the most important 3 days (for me that was the 20, 21, 22). To be honest... skipping days wasn't working for us.... once we went full throttle... I got a BFP. So all in all... NOPE not worried because it worked better for me to do it the way I did, hence the BFP.
The whole reason you do it every other day before O is to build up the sperm creation. So when you get to the O time and you are everyday then he should be able to replenish faily quickly.
What I didn't say either was that on CD 22 we three times!!!
I'm more than pleased with the results of this cycle.
I say to tonight!!

Re: Please help a TTCer...
We started every other day from day 10 and then when I got a positive OPK (usually not until CD20), we BD'd 3 days in row. That's how I eventually got pregnant, so I don't think we had an issue with sperm depletion.
Good luck!!

So 10, 12, 14, 16.... then DO NOT take a break.... that will hinder you... I say keep going every other day until you get a postive or a smiley on an opk and then go every day in a row.
I wouldn't worry about sperm depletion unless your SO's sperm was tested and is very low. Then you need to formulate or adjust the plan... but otherwise this is the formula that works best.

As far as I know DH sperm is normal :) Although this is our first month trying and we are tryinig not to use OPK or anything like that...just been counting days to day 14 and taking it from there. This is my 2nd month off the pill...1st month I was normal cycle--28/29 days...periods have always been normal.
So is there a time where we can slow down on the sex then (since you said don't take a break)...like thinking will do CD 10, CD 12, CD 14, CD 16, CD 18, CD20..then can I take a break? hehe

haha! Yes, then you can take a break. If you think you o around cd 14... then I would add one session in on CD13 or CD 15. Go in with a bang for a better chance!!! But you can opt to keep it the way it is now... it looks fine to me and you have a good chance with that schedule.
I normally o late in the cycle so we go for the everyday closer to cd 18ish.

Re: Please help a TTCer...
if you get an ovulation predictor kit (the first response ones are good) it will help you pinpoint when you ovulate so you know exactly when to BD

Re: Please help a TTCer...
Like the pp said, unless you know dh has a low sperm count there shouldn't be any reason to not do it back to back days. I was temping and using opk- when I knew ovulation was approaching we did it the days leading up to O and 2x a day during the 24-36 hrs I got the + opk

Re: Please help a TTCer...
I would def use OPK kits or find some other way to gauge ovulation bc everyone is so different and if you BD too late, you're bascially out of the game! always vote for earlier rather than later bc the little guys can live for up to 3 days but once the window is shut. . well it's shut for good!
Good luck!

Re: Please help a TTCer...
I can always feel myself ovulate around CD13.
On our first month of trying we BD CD 11, 12, 14. I actually couldn't BD on CD13 because my ovulation cramps were just too severe.
Got pregnant that first month with twins!

That comments makes me nervous because I have been getting really bad cramps for the past 2 days or so (which I am thinkin have to be ovulation)...hope that doesn't mean twins (like double ovulation for double eggs) haha
