Puerto Rico hotel recommendations on the beach
My brother and his GF are going and are looking for recommendations. I've never been so I have no clue.
TIA!

Puerto Rico hotel recommendations
Dorado beach is the nicest. It's a reserve ritz Carlton.

Just looked it up. The cheapest room is $1000 a night for the days they want to go

El Conquisidor
Thank You.
I just looked it up and it's gorgeous. But it's not on the beach. Says "near beach". Boo! I know they want to be on the beach.

Yeah it's not cheap. Our clients were millionaires and billionaires lol.
What about the W?
There's always Marriott stellaris or ritz Carlton. El San Juan resort.

They have their own island that you take a boat over to. It looks gorgeous. But, someone on here went and they weren't impressed IIRC

Stellaris beach is not that nice. It's always red flagged so you can basically never go into the ocean.

How about La Concha Resort. We stayed there for the weekend and were really pleased with the place.

Re: Puerto Rico hotel recommendations on the beach
I've been to PR twice in the past year and would recommend either the Ritz, the Intercontinental or the El San Juan in the Isla Verde section. All 3 hotels are on the beach and the beach is gorgeous!

Re: Puerto Rico hotel recommendations on the beach
The Intercontinental is on the main strip on the beach. And reasonable. They have a beautiful pool area as well. The El San Juan Hotel is right next door which has a casino (if they gamble).
They are not all inclusive which is hard to find in PR.
Also; The Condado (Hilton) is at the other end of the strip before headng into Old San Juan Its fairly new; (fire many years ago) however not sure of their pricing.

We stayed at El Conquistador last year and were really disappointed. The pictures made the resort look gorgeous but it was not. The private island's beach was awful with a ton of debris. Food was bad. I would look elsewhere.

Re: Puerto Rico hotel recommendations on the beach
I liked the Marriott. Found it to be nice, centrally located and with nice pools & rooms. It's easy walk to old San juan.
I'm sure the ritz is gorgeous.

I was there a long time ago like 10 years and it was great , must've gone down hill?

Food was awful. I have had some spectacular food previously in Puerto Rico. Not at this resort.
No kid activities whatsoever. No kids club. No pool activities. Nothing. They didn't even offer kid friendly family excursions.
The tram to get to the beach boat area kept breaking. I was afraid to get on it.
They charged to go to the kid pool area with slide. It really wasn't much of a waterpark. It was a normal resort pool. I thought it was really annoying that they charged you a waterpark fee to go to a pool with a slide and small lazy river.
The absolute worst part of the resort was the beach. Ferry to beach came once an hour but sometimes it would skip and not come. No one knew why it wasn't coming so guests were just standing around waiting for the ferry. There was so much debris and just plain trash. Beer bottles, broken glass, cigarettes, I could not believe how dirty the beach area was.
I believe the Ritz (not Dorado but normal Ritz in San Juan) is the same pricIe or maybe even cheaper. I have stayed there before and it was much nicer.

Second vote for La Concha... On the beach, great vibes and its in Condado which is a great area to be in. I absolutely cant stand Isla Verde unless its to gamble at the casino. I just dont think the surrounding area is anything spectacular. At least with being in Condado, you are close to everything, especially Old San Juan. If you could fit going to El Yunque rainforest, i would highly recommend it.
Another area that i really like is Rincon... You would fly into Aguadilla instead of San Juan. Its really chill and laid back. People rent their houses on the beach so your literally right on it.
My mom has a condo in PR so we are pretty familiar with many of the areas...

I just found out friends of mine stayed here last month and they loved it.
I will let him know it comes highly recommended.
Thanks again everyone.
