Retard is not the same as "spade is a spade" and not a fair comparison. Monkey has also been known to be used as a racial slur especially referring to sports players, so it is the same as the Spade example. So no, it's not only Ape.
I am not even going to go there with "Duh".
I’ve only heard ape being used, not monkey.
I've never heard Spade used as a slur, however, doesn't make it less true. Monkey has been a very common racial slur used, more so then spade. I actually feel like Spade is very outdated & hardly used.

I don’t think it should be used. In my opinion, for a majority of people, it causes more harm than good.
I have a profile that I use to access local buy/sell groups. But I have no personal info, photos, etc.
I agree, it is very damaging for many people, kids and teens alike. Teen are able to meet people outside their neighborhood and its not always for good. People post the best pictures of themselves many times (NOT always), pretending to be happier then what is really going on inside the home or relationships.
I know some people who cant stop with selfies because something is missing from within. I know of someone who almost everyday talks about how blessed she to have her amazing husband and posts all the gifts he buys her, from very high priced stores, and her kids etc.... she posts of how wonderful she is and the good deeds she does. UGH, to me it appears like she is in such need to be valuated.
I'm not sure many of these medias have a real place. I agree with 100%

I love them. I posted a bunch of pictures of each of my kids on each day. Not because I'm following anyone, because I like showing off my kids. They're the light of my life and I love any excuse to share them. I'm comfortable enough in my skin to know I'm not a sheep just because I'm doing the same thing as many. When it's important to go against the crowd, I do.

I said people in general. I was referring to how someone said people are too sensitive these days. If I am called out on something that isn’t appropriate, then I’ll think twice about it. It isn’t that hard.
As for your comments on racial phrases, then I will take that into consideration and learn from it. There are things I don’t know, but I’m not going to ignore certain phrases because some people think everything has become too PC.

of course, i immediately thought of you all and this thread...
i just got an email at work, from "perks at work" letting me know that today is "National Handbag Day."
so, through one of the discount programs my employer participates in... i can save up to 50% if i buy a handbag through them, plus i get up to 4 times the usual points.
there really is a day for everything
