Re: tipping someone you know

He probably felt uncomfortable being tipped by someone he knows, and felt like he needed to say something to thank you.
The whole tipping friends thing is always so awkward for both parties.
Just move on and don't give it a second thought.
This! My hairdresser is a good friend and our convo ALWAYS gets awkward when I go to tip. We even made jokes about it but it still happens. LOL. Let it go.

I'm so confused as to why your DH would flip out, I don't see what your friend did that was so bad?

I don't understand either...it seemed he thanked you in the first place cuz he's not used to getting tips & maybe was just awkward about it cuz someone he knew tipped him...but wanted you to know he appreciated it. And now he's being even friendlier because he didn't forget & still really appreciates it. Why would anyone flip out over that?

It was his tone when he said it; it was off, not genuine. I really didn't feel in my gut that I was being thanked in a real way. That's why I questioned it in the first place.
DH would flip because it shouldn't even have been brought up at all. Alls well that ends well

I would think he felt funny because 1. he knows you and 2. he's the manager so its weird that he got tipped at all. I wouldn't think too much of it. Don't let it bother you.

I'm sorry still scratching my head.. how bad could his tone be that your DH would flip for him saying thank you for a tip. Unless there were more words exchanged or more to the story. I just can't see the big deal and I'm sure my DH would just think I was blowing things out of proportion.
