Not attending a wedding and gift giving Q
DH and I got invited to a wedding of a distant family member that we are not close to (they are a family member of my uncle's on his side), and were not expecting the invite. We are not attending the wedding. Do you send a gift if you are not attending, regardless of your relationship with the person/couple? Just curious what everyone else does.

Not always. I have been invited to weddings similar to this- people we don't have a real relationship with and not sent a gift.

Random. I would maybe send a small registry gift.

Re: Not attending a wedding and gift giving Q
Normally, I do send something if I decline, but this seems like such a reach for a gift that I would just send my regrets.

If I am not close to at least one of the people getting married, I would not send a gift.

Totally depends who it is. Generally, yes but not as much as if I were going.

In this case I wouldn’t send a gift. Generally for good friends and family, yes.
