Where did you get your DD's ear pierced if they weren't a baby?
DD is 7 and has been saying she wants to get her ears pierced. I never had them done when she was a baby because I really wanted her to make that decision when she was old enough to understand and ask for it.
I don't know much about getting them done- where is a good place to go that is safe and clean?

Where did you get your DD's ear pierced if they weren't a baby?
We went to Piercing Pagoda when she asked for them, but I'm not sure that exists anymore. I know a lot of people go to Claire's in the mall. I always see girls getting them done there

I got mine done for my 1st communion, and went to an actual jewelry store to get it done with my mom. Any jewelry store can do it for you. I would avoid claire's and icing, though. I got a 2nd hole done at claire's when I was a teenager that got infected. Similar things happened with icing with friends

Claire’s. Just took my oldest and the girl who did it was fast as lightening.

I was 7 when I got mine done and so were all of my cousins. I always assumed I'd take my daughter around 7 if she starts asking.
My friend just took her 7 year old to Piercing Pagoda and they did a great job.

Yep 7 seems to be the age they get the itch... she's been asking since her bday but I just haven't gotten around to it.
I will check out some of these places.

I did mine at a local jeweler recommended by ped because he doesn't do it. DD had it done when she was 4 months. It was in wantagh I think it was fred something.
I would ask you ped.

We did it a jewelry store.
Don't know where you are located, but we went to Kay Cameron in Sayville. You just need to call to make sure there is someone there that day to do it. Definitely clean, and nice and quiet.

Haileys were done when she was a baby, but it was too low on one side so we had to let them close up. It will pulling and ripping her ear lobe.
So we just had them done after her last day of Nursery School. We went to Claires.

My ped use to do it and then they stopped, they suggested we go to a local tattoo place that has piercings, so we went there.

Our pediatrician did it. He even had a few choices of studs to choose from. It made me feel better than having the teenaged girl at Claire's do it.

I clicked here by accident, but reminded me of this article/FB video I saw recently that advocated for bringing kids to tattoo parlors instead of places like Claires. It made sense -

My DD just had hers done at 6 yrs old at Frank and Fran's jewelers in Wantagh. Another good place is Gennaro's jewelers in Bellmore. I wouldn't trust Claire's or Piercing Pagoda for her first ear piercing, but that's just me.
