Personalized Xmas stocking and long names
Pls help
I had a set of three stockings that I Loved. Then we had more kids lol. I never bought a new set once my second one came along and now that our third is here I gotta get stockings once and for all
I found a set that I love but of course you can only fit 9 letters on them. One of my kids has a first name that's 11 letters long- Of course.
My question is this- have you guys ever bought stockings off a website then taken them someplace to get them personalized- (I'd prefer Embroidered) If so, where?
And if no, where did you Long name friends get your personalized stockings from?
Also do your parent stockings say Mom and dad or your actual names?

Can't help you with the personalization and long names (does little guy have a nickname you can put on?) but I used to have 'Mom' and 'Dad' but then I decided I didn't like it, so last year bought new ones with our first names.

You can either PM me or visit my facebook page White Hydrangea Gifts and drop me a message there.
Name length is not a problem. I would be doing the personalization with Iron on Vinyl and everything would be justified in the font of your choice to fit and have uniformity.

Unless I am reading it wrong I think she meant his first name is too long for the stocking.
I don't think she was planning on putting the middle name on there.
Do people even put middle names on stockings?
I can't imagine that would fit for anyone

Yeah - I think her middle son's name is 11 letters. I read it the other way the first time too.
Does your son have a nickname? Maybe you can just put first initials on?

Hey- yeah I changed my original post to make it clear- my middle son's name is Christopher...11 letters. My nickname for him is Kissy lol and i wouldn't want Chris
I think ill order the stockings i like, blank, and take all of them some place that does embroidery so that they all look the same
any suggestions?

as far as the long name... have you thought of having them "made for you". in my world, i would knit them and incorporate the name into the pattern. an eleven-lettered name would fit.
as far as "mom" and "dad"
my stocking used to say mom
i'm thinking of re-making stockings and i'll use my full first name

I would take the above poster up on her offer of doing vinyl for you. It lasts forever, and probably cheaper than embroidery. And you don't have to worry about the letter limit. I bought these burlap type stockings and vinyl'd the names on

I'd order them plain and then have them embroidered. There's a chain, EmbroidMe that you can check out. No personal experience with them though.

My husband is Christopher and we had to shorten to Chris.
Me and DH have our names on there. We are our own people with our own identities separate from being just mom and dad. For some reason, mom and dad stockings are just a personal pet peeve of mine!
