Changing name on personalized stocking
We ordered stockings last year from personal creations. We had a baby this year, and now need to get them a stocking. The thing is, they changed the design on the stocking, so the top is red, and so forth. I do not want to order all new stockings, because we are having a baby next year (our last) so I will order a new family set for next year.
We did get an extra stocking for their uncle last year, anyway we can remove the stitching from his, and put my new baby's name on it?
Thanks

If you can't, why don't you get a "baby's 1st christmas" stocking? They are like $12 in the pottery barn outlet. And then you can use it for the next new baby!

I would try bringing it to Embroid-Me or maybe things remembered. Or even a seamstress- I'm sure they could do it.

Re: Changing name on personalized stocking
If you are patient and careful, you can use a seam ripper or tiny embroidery scissors to pull out the old name. Then if the fabric allows, steam with a damp press cloth (pillow case or hankie) to close up the holes a bit. Just hope it was Uncle Bob and not Uncle Christopher!
You can call the company to see if you can send it back for new embroidery (my mom ordered stockings for the grandkids from Lands End then sends them back for names as babies are born) or try the kiosk in the mall to match the color and font to your other stockings.
That being said, since you're having another baby and will get a new set next year, I'd do as mentioned above and just get an inexpensive stocking for this year.
