When you go to a party...
Let's say you're bringing chips and dip, do you bring a bowl for the chips? Silly question but I always feel weird regardless of which route I go with.

When you go to a party...
Depends on whose house I'm going to. If it's one of my single, tiny apartment friends, yes. My more settled in friends, no.
I once offered to bring pasta salad to a rooftop BBQ. It was in a tray (it was 3 boxes of pasta plus cheese and veggies) so I brought along a serving bowl, serving spoon and extra dressing. My friend was like "omg, good call I don't have spoons!"

When you go to a party...
No. I'd bring a bag of chips and a Tupperware of dip.

When you go to a party...
Not unless you don't think they have one. Then I would buy one from the dollar store

Re: When you go to a party...
I guess it depends on where/who and the occasion, but usually no. Either the person has a bowl or it is ridiculously informal and we just eat out of the bag.

Re: When you go to a party...
Nope
The only time might be if we are doing a holiday or party at my dad's house.
We tend to co-host--whether it's at his house or mine--so it's always a blend of our serving supplies.

Always but it is usually a bowl from the dollar store so they can toss when done.

I brought a cucumber salad to a BBQ last year & I know my friend has serving spoons (she's married, they had a shower, she has a house, she hosts often) but I knew she was have several side dishes, so I didn't know if she would have enough, so I brought one, but she had bought extra plastic ones at a party store. I was impressed at her planning skills!
I don't think I have ever brought chips to a party. I would probably get a cheap bowl just in case. usually whatever I bring is already in a container it can be served in. I usually use those foil pans.

I bring a foil pan so everything can be tossed afterwards.
