Re: Another wedding gift $ question
Yes, I think that is fine.
I think people will disagree with me, but depending upon how close you are, I might say $300 is too much.

That's totally fine. If they get upset, then they are not really friends.

Re: Another wedding gift $ question
I give $75-$100 per person no mattter who it is and where its at. Gift giving is out of control with what is "expected" nowadays. I go by the fact that I shouldn't have to pay to go to someones wedding (meaning I don't care how much a plate may cost per person its not my job to cover it)

Another wedding gift $ question
Obviously give what you can afford. I would never suggest you give more than you can. For friends we give between $250 and $500. I basically match or give above what ever people gave us. In 2013, most friends gave us between 300 and 400. A few above and a few below.

Re: Another wedding gift $ question
Haven't been to a wedding in a while but I'd give $300. If it was a family member or really really close friend maybe $500

Another wedding gift $ question
Depending upon the relationship, I'd give $250-350 for a friend.

Re: Another wedding gift $ question
I give according to how close I am to someone and how much I can afford.
I have a wedding in september, and we're giving $750. BUT DH is the best man, DS is the ring bearer, the groom is my best friend of 20 years, and he has ALWAYS been there for my family. He also introduced me to DH.
my parents are also going, and they are giving $400

Another wedding gift $ question
We give $300 to friends, $1000 to close family. So yes, I think $300 is perfect.

Re: Another wedding gift $ question
We called and asked the person. It's normal from the giver. I thought it was a mistake. But it wasn't.
