Omg kale!!
I bought a bag of kale from trader joes over the weekend. It expires tomorrow so I decided to make kale chips just now. I used half the bag. The other half I was going to make later tonight. I left the bag on the counter unopened for 2 min (I had to pee) and the entire apartment smells like fart!! It's so disgusting!! I threw it all out but now I'm pissed. Why does it smell so bad!? It's never happened before and the exp date is tmrw. The leaves were dry and looked fresh. All my windows are open and I only have 1 tiny candle at home. I'm dying!! Is this normal!??
I usually get reg kale in a bag and this was the organic Tuscan kale.

In my bags of kale or spinach I always manage to find one yucky slimy piece that stinks up the whole bag

Kale always smells like that, at least in our house. It makes me want to vomit, so it's now banned from being cooked

I love Trader Joe's but often I find their bagged salad greens are about a day or two away from going bad when I buy them. I'm disappointed by their strawberries, too! There is always one damn hidden moldy strawberry towards the bottom. :(

I definitely find Trader.Joe's to be subpar on a lot of stuff. It reminds me of Aldi. Cheap and low quality.

Smell eventually went away. It was so gross!!! I opened up a box of baking soda and put it on the counter.

My Trader Joes strawberries were complete mold within 2 days this week! The rest of the fruit/veggies were ok though.
