When is the best time to hit up the Museum of Natural History on weekend?

We are planning our trip for July (yeah not my choice, wasn't my fault!) and we are going to spend Saturday in the City.

Can't come to NYC without taking AJ to the Hayden. My little Space junkie.

So I know it's ALWAYS crowded but when's best to go?

I would say right when they open. We've been twice in the middle of the day on a weekend and it wasn't too bad. But I would think when they open just to be safe.

We've gotten there mid-morning and it's never too crowded to get in. The museum is huge, so I've never felt like it's too crowded. Personally, I would go for early morning and then leave for lunch. You can eat downstairs in their cafeteria-like restaurant, but it's not great.

Yeah we've eaten downstairs. Not super wonderful but hey it's there. And it's easy in and out and back to it. Rather than out to the street and back in and start up from where ever we left off. That's the idea isn't it?

*sigh*

Summers in NYC aren't usually what I aim for so I'm trying to stay INDOORS as much as possible. Just cringing at mid July.

We are going to Mid town to visit Girl Scout Headquarters then we are in long island for a wedding (which is why we are coming to being with). AJ is staying with grandma.

But I figured we'd make a day in the City on Saturday before leaving Sunday. We still have Friday before the wedding too but meh. I'm too lazy to do the math of trying to something and get out to Long Island too.

Just a quick trip to the City hahaha. Ironic how my officemates are all like "OMG you're going to NYC, how lucky!" Yeah but its just a quick trip in the heat of summer. Trust me. I'd rather be there in the fall or spring! Only reason we extended this visit at all was because AJ really whined she hasn't seen her grandmother, aunt and uncle and really wanted to visit them.

To her Brooklyn, Hempstead, and the City are all like ya know close Chat Icon
