Anyone else have a holiday/birthday every month of the year
Jan- DD birthday and her BFF birthday Feb- Dads birthday and a friends kids birthday March - my god daughter DH god son birthday April - easter and nephews birthday May - Friends kids birthday, mothers day June - Fathers day, end of teacher gifts (though I hate doing this and really don't want to spend too much on it) July - Nothing August - DH, moms birthday (on the same day), friends kid birthday, my brithday September - my friends kids birthday October - nothing November - DS birthday December - nephews birthday xmas
2 months that's it where I don't maybe have to by someone a present. 2 months that's it
this doesn't even include any birthday parties we get invited too.
Its out of hand!!! I feel like I can never save any extra money or pay anything off quicker cause all I do is have to spend money on gifts!!! Its frustrating.
Am I the only one?!

Re: Anyone else have a holiday/birthday every month of the year
YES!!!! As of last year, August was our only "free" month. We are now expecting DC#2 in August!! I must say I am happy that DC#2 will get their special month too (DC#1 is the only birthday/milestone in the month of her bday too). But, yup, now we are totally booked!!
ETA: I don't really count friend's kids bdays. yes, its an expense for buying gifts...but we have enough going on without factoring them in! LOL

Yes, absolutely. We have big families, but I don't think this is so uncommon. We give smaller gifts, we'd go broke otherwise.

November is our only month with no birthdays/gift holidays

Mine seem to be all clustered together.
Both of my parents, both of my In-laws, my niece, and my god daughter are all in APRIL!
We also have a lot in September - including myself and DS!

For us I feel like it is worse. Almost everyone in my family is born in December-February.

We have something every month. The worst are mid November - mid December, we have 4 birthdays. March we have 3 birthdays and will be 4 will my newly adopted child next year and in January we have 4 birthdays within 3 days. I have a birthday line in my monthly budget because it just gets to be too much, but we love celebrating!!!

dh and I are SOOO done. Everyone requests bday dinners and its $200 MINIMUM, not including gift! We are telling fam you either get a gift and we do something very low key, or just a dinner. enough is enough!!

Re: Anyone else have a holiday/birthday every month of the year
I don't mind partying though I will say a majority of these gifts don't go with a party
it just the feeling of constantly having to buy something I am over .
I guess it didn't help I made this post after having to pay for damn red light ticket (I know my fault ) registration for one of our cars and book a hotel room. A lot of money spent in a matter of 30 minutes and then remembering all the gifts that still need to be bought pushed me over the edge last night

Yes. But in my family we do our best to group birthdays and honestly we don't do gifts for the adults (with exception of parents but I don't get my siblings or cousins). And for kids we set a $25 max because there is a lot of them.
The BIGGER issue is our friends who still celebrate their birthday as some grand event, $100 per person dinners etc. I stopped going. It's ridiculous. This on top of weddings and everything else, and kiddie parties it's too much. And quite frankly no one cares about your 33rd birthday. We all have birthdays, it's not a milestone birthday and nothing that needs to be celebrated in a grand fashion lol.

Yes! March and July are our only "free" months but that is ending this year when TWO new members of our clan are born in July. September-December are our hardest hit months and it sucks because its right as the holidays approach. We have 13 birthdays, 4 of which are our parents and 1 of my sons, between September and Christmas.

Re: Anyone else have a holiday/birthday every month of the year
Wow! This is one of the positive things of not being married, having both parents passed and no family in town! My kids friends are the only ones we buy for.
I rarely have showers or anniversaries or milestone bdays to attend. Saves a lot and frees up my weekends without obligations
I do take a couple of my bffs out to dinner for their bday

Re: Anyone else have a holiday/birthday every month of the year
If it's too much set $ limits on gifts, only buy for kids and tell the adults no gifts. Nobody should be going broke buying gifts. There are enough necessary expenses you can't get away from to worry about thousands of gifts to buy on top of it.
