traveling to jamaica with baby- questions

We are going for a wedding and staying at an all inclusive. Not renting a car, and not intending on leaving the resort until we go home. If anyone has been to jamaica with their baby (dd will be around 12 months), I was wondering:

1. Do we bring a car seat, or do they not use them there? I know some places don't have car seat laws, and you just sit them on your lap on the way tot he resort

2. Do they have cow's milk? A friend said some places use goat's milk or something like that. We want to switch DD to whole milk before we leave so we don't need to bring formula with us. If they don't have regular milk, though, I am just going to stick with formula

3. Is there anything else that I should know about with traveling with a baby there?

I have not taken DD out of the country yet but I would 100% bring a car seat. I don't care what the law is, a 12 month old should not be in a car without a seat.

I would also bring formula- even if they have cow's milk, you don't know what the pasteurization process is. Although, if your DD is eating enough table food by then I might not really worry so much about even giving milk/formula, especially since it's only for a few days.

I would call the resort and ask about milk, but I'm 99% sure resorts have pasteurized cow's milk.

We went to DR shortly after dd was a year. They didn't have whole milk but 2%. Since it was a short trip it was fine and dd survived. Every morning we would call and ask the housekeeper to restock with water and milk since that is what dd drank. In our luggage we stuffed a whole box of diapers by lining our suitcase with diapers then stuffing them wherever we could find room. We bought munchies such as packs and fish crackers in a big ziplock bag and a snack trap so we always had munchies. Along with the regular diapers we bought wipes and swim diapers and a puddle jumper since dd loves the water and it was nice not to have to hold her the whole time. Also bring sippy cups to put the bottled water in as I don't trust tap water in other countries and dd likes her water cold.

Also all inclusives usually have fruit available at all times so every time We were at the pool we would go and get a heaping plate of fruit to hang out at the pool with to keep dd hydrated. Also bring an umbrella stroller and download some movies on your phone or iPad so you can keep child occupied when at the restaurants and such. Let me know if you have any questions as I was moh and dd was the flower girl so we had to pack all the necessities but we had a blast.

Yes bring car seat. The shuttle to the resort said we could sit her on our laps but I was not comfortable with that. We purchased the Cosco scenera from Walmart for traveling since it's like $30 and it's really light. It's rear facing up to $40 pounds.

Re: traveling to jamaica with baby- questions

My niece was 11 months old when we took her to DR for the first time.
We had a small inflatable kiddie pool for her for when we were at the beach. Sandwiched between two chairs and under an umbrella, she could sit in there and play without getting too sandy and also to cool off.

Also, we divided her stuff between all of our suitcases just in case one got lost in transit.
No car seat, my sister wore her in a Bjorn on the plane and also in the car to the resort.

Memories, she's 15 now.
