Traveling with the baby…so many questions
1) I have a city mini and I use the car seat adapter. Can I bring the stroller with the car seat and check it at the gate? I am using this bag for the stroller.Stroller Travel Bag
Will it be a big deal as far as it being checked since the bag is bulky? I did not want to use this bag.
Gate Check Bag
2) Can I fill his bottles with water and keep the formula separate?
3) I understand with an infant you are allowed 1 personal item and 1 carry on. If my DH and I are traveling with the baby does that mean that he gets one personal and one carry on and I get one personal and one carry on? Or does that only apply to one of us?
I am just trying to get all this straight because I do not want any surprises at the airport. TIA!

Re: Traveling with the baby…so many questions
I only gate checked the stroller so I can't be of any help there BUT I was not allowed to bring water in bottles or to even have unopened water bottles when I went thru security. You can ONLY have formula and/or baby food. After you get through security, just pick up some bottled water.

Re: Traveling with the baby…so many questions
You can travel with the powder and get the water in the airport or you can get the formula pre-mixed. I dont know how much though. Call your airline.
I am checking my stroller at the gate. I dont think you need a bag.
Everyone on the plane is allowed one back to carry on and a personal bag. I dont think its different if you have a baby. If you bought the baby a ticket they also get a carry on and a personal bag.

Yes you can gate check those. We never used any bags...
2) Can I fill his bottles with water and keep the formula separate?
Yes, they don't question anything with a baby, they may test it though (just by waving a strip over it).
3) I understand with an infant you are allowed 1 personal item and 1 carry on. If my DH and I are traveling with the baby does that mean that he gets one personal and one carry on and I get one personal and one carry on? Or does that only apply to one of us?
You can bring as many carry ons as you want with a baby. The first time I flew with DD she was 4 months and I was alone with her and I brought her car seat, snap n go (both checked), my pump, my purse, diaper bag and a carry on duffle!

Re: Traveling with the baby…so many questions
I checked a stroller and had no issues. We purchased our DS a seat so we brought his car seat onboard.
As for bringing things on board for your DC, the rules change significantly since you have a child. If you search for a post by me, you'll find the TSA regulations. I contacted them when I was traveling (i'll bump it for you if i have a chance).
I brought an unopened water bottle for my DS in my carry-on plus a bottle of milk. I carried the milk in a cooler bag. The water was for my DS to drink in a sippy and take some powdered medicine. I had the meds in my carry-on also. They asked about the water and I said I needed it for my DS and to take his medicine (which was only Miralax ) They asked if they could open the water bottle and I said of course and they held this paper above it and that was it. I also brought frozen homemade food for my DS on board with me in a separate carryon which was an insulated bag. No issues there either. At either airport.

I wish I had the same experiences! They wouldn't let me get the water through so I had a screaming infant by the time I got thru security and had to scramble to find water to make a bottle! They also made me BREAK one of his toys because there appeared to be some liquid of some type in it and my DS woudl have freaked if I left it behind - - I think I just got the wrong line!!!
