Are you part of TWW?
It's a spinoff of Pantsuit Nation, which can no longer take political action due to its application for 501c3 status.
Groups are forming and taking concrete action.

Has anyone seen this? Apologies if it's been posted. It's an article which links to a free e-guide about resisting the Trump agenda. I have not read the whole guide but it's interesting and may be useful.
Article with link to 'Indivisible: A Practical Guide to Resisting the Trump Agenda'
Also, this site is a good resource to keep track of his conflicts of interest: Corrupt.af

He is such a douch e.
We are SO screwed and I am SO angry about it.
I wish to god that the media would stop reporting on his asinine tweets that he is OBVIOUSLY using as a smoke and mirror for something else.
He has appointed a cabinet full of people that are AGAINST the very department they are appointed to run.
And I saw a news story the other day of some guy in (pick a red state). Saying how he cant wait till Obama Care is dismantled. He was asked what insurance he had. He said (pick a state exchange policy). When the reporter says "You know that's Obama care right?"...the guy was like "whhhaaaaa?????".
Idiots and a$$holes.

I will be floored if Obamacare is replaced as Trump is claiming. Paul Ryan wants it gone and won't stop till that's the case.

Bumping because there are some letter writing campaigns going on right now to try to appeal to the new Congress ASAP.
If you want to take action and haven't already done so, please join a new group called Together We Will. Message me for information.

It has been suggested that we go down to our congress people's local offices to express our desire for the congressperson to oppose Trump's initiatives at every turn. For anyone in CD 3, Suozzi just opened up his local office on Park Ave by N Woodhull in Huntington. I'll be headed down there soon.

I had started a thread in the LI chapter of PN about trying to oust Pete King, which then also turned into a discussion about Lee Zeldin. From there, I got myself into the TWW group, but there was something about I CAN? And a local meeting? I asked for details, and it never went anywhere beyond a bunch of people agreeing with no plan of action.

Re: If you're anti Trump come in - no debate please
I'm still hung up on the "Pantsuit Nation". I'm seriously confused.
What is the purpose of the group now, and what is the connection to HRC now that she has lost and we doubt (or at least don't know) if she is going to get involved in future elections? The group I belong to had been called LI for Bernie Sanders but has since changed its name to LI Activists to reflect this new chapter. Our goal is to promote leftie/progressive goals - women/immigrant/minority's rights, protecting the middle class, removing big money and corruption from politics, protecting the environment/clean energy, as well as resisting Donnie.
Why is your group hanging onto that Hillary referencing name when it seems that ship has sailed? I get that we might be different flavors of left, but I just wish these factions could form a more united front.
ETA: I'm all for ousting Pete King. He is a flip flopping Don butt kissing pig who has GOT to go.

I'm with you on wanting to solidify. I read something (maybe it was The Times) about the creator of PN using it as a platform to write and sell a book? Most of the posts I see have taken on a "safe space" tone of inspirational stories. I'm more interested in concrete action at this point.

The woman who founded PN is writing a book- she wants people who shared stories to agree to have them used. I don't really see what she would do with it as a nonprofit, other than funding women who wanted to run for office. There was a lot of backlash and now the local groups are allowed to share political action ideas. I am still in those groups but am a little over it. Am going to try and join the group mentioned above.

Yes, it is LI based. You could still join on Facebook, but obviously you could not participate in LI events. If you are elsewhere in NY, there is a larger organization for the state.
If anyone else is interested, let me know.

Re: If you're anti Trump come in - no debate please
Together We Will LI posted a survey for anyone looking to attend the women's march in NYC on January 21st. The group is looking to organize transportation and assemble to march together, using the survey to help get everyone organized via group texts and carpools, maybe discounted LIRR tix. FM me if you want the link and an invite to the FB group!
As a preggo, I'm sad I'm not allowed to go on to DC, but I'm hoping we'll have a strong showing @ this sister march!
Here's a link to more info and a site where you can find other local sister marches (for posters living out of the area): https://www.womensmarch.com/sisters

Re: If you're anti Trump come in - no debate please
To clarify if anyone is still confused, because I know it's a lot:
1. Pantsuit Nation was a pro Hillary group that still exists mainly for sharing inspiring stories and non political calls to action (in the form of fundraising I believe.) There is both a national group and a local chapter. Because it acquired 501c3 status, it cannot take political action. Honestly, even the action it can take seems to be secondary to the storytelling, so many wanted more.
2. A spinoff group formed that can take ANY kind of action. It is called Together We Will. It was BRIEFLY called CAN (Caring Active Neighbors) but now it is TWW. CAN was just a placeholder until we could get an official name, and TWW is official as in vetted by legal analysts to make sure we can use it. Again, there is both a national and a local group.
3. If you want to take action but never joined Pantsuit Nation, go ahead and join it, but know that concrete action originates with TWW.
4. TWW is divided into caucuses and committees. The groups ARE doing work. Two caucuses just met today.
That is all I really want to say publicly because the groups are really not public at this time. If you want to join one of them and I can confirm your ideology from your posts, please FM me.

Sorry, just want to add one more thing -
If you want to take action but don't want to go to meetings or protests, I still encourage you to join the group because they're posting information that you can use independently - i.e. upcoming issues of importance, contact information for politicians, even scripts you can use when you call. So there are things you can do even from your desk at work.

From what I read, they only need a senate majority (50 votes) and the GOP has 52 plus Pence as a tie-breaker. I will call Schumer and Gillibrand, but they will already oppose confirmation without proper background checks, financial disclosures, and resolution of conflicts. It seems we're counting on members of the GOP to break party lines, which I won't hold my breath. I'm cringing @ Sessions and DeVos.

Can we call other senators? Ones that arent ours? Edited to share what I found on a FB page
Action for TOMORROW, JAN 9: phone calls, emails, and/ or tweets. (If you can only make one or two calls, focus on YOUR Senators first.)
1) Call Mitch McConnell's office and forcefully explain that hypocrisy is the enemy of patriotism. If McConnell is unprepared to put his country first, above all other interests and concerns, then he must resign from office immediately. McConnell’s actions regarding this past election and Trump’s cabinet appointments indicate that he is unfit for Senate leadership.
https://thinkprogress.org/mitch-mcconnell-confirmation-ethics-hypocrisy-2c75b671d694#.5nx6upqge
McConnell’s DC office number is: (202) 224-2541. If you can’t get through, here is a link to his contact form: https://www.mcconnell.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/contactform
2) Call your Senate reps, both GOP and DEMs, and forcefully explain that hypocrisy is the enemy of patriotism. If McConnell, or any other Senator, is unprepared to put country first, above all other interests and concerns, then he or she must resign from office immediately. McConnell’s actions regarding this past election and Trump’s cabinet appointments indicate that he is unfit for Senate leadership.
The link to find your Senators’ contact information can be found here: https://www.senate.gov/senators/contact/
3) Flood the Chucks! Between 12:30 and 2 PM on Monday, call NY Senator Chuck Schumer and Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley, Chair of the Judiciary Committee. A blitz effort with the script below shows that there is an organized effort to block Sessions’ nomination - and that makes our representatives pay attention.
Judiciary Committee (202) 224-5225
Chuck Schumer (202) 224-6542 (212) 486-4430 (NYC) (631) 753-0978 (Melville, Long Island) (607) 772-6792 (Binghamton) (914) 734-1532 (Peekskill) @SenSchumer
Chuck Grassley (202) 224-3344 @ChuckGrassley
Thank you for your attention. #TheResistance
