mail delivery during the holidays
Do you think with everyone sending out cards and gifts, it may take a bit longer to receive mail? I mailed a pretty expensive gift card at 7:30 am on Monday. It was sent from Nassau County to Central CT. The person still hasn't received it, and I am getting nervous that it was stolen.

My mail is taking longer. Someone mailed me a 5 inch stiff envelope as a 1st class package. Should have taken 2 days, it took 7.

I mailed two items, both priority mail to a destination that takes 2 days typically. Both took 8 days. Ridiculous!! But, all of my Amazon stuff that USPS delivers gets here within 2 days. I think the "regular" items are being throttled due to the Amazon stuff, and USPS not wanting to piss off Amazon.

Post office said to expect about 5-7 days over normal expectations. They aren't even guaranteeing overnight because they are so busy. This is normal for the holidays.

I think they're not guaranteeing overnight delivery because they're incompetent, not because of the holidays, lol

Ugh! I need to overnight my sister Christmas PJs for her kids. Her DD got a stomach bug late last night and now we are not going to her house for Christmas Eve..... Fingers crossed that it gets there.

I received a priority package form Wisconsin today & it was shipped on 12/19. I don't think that is a particularly long time , but I thought priority was supposed to take 2 days.

Our girls were mailed cards at the same time. Dd1s came on Saturday. Dd2s didn't come until Thursday. It's a crap shoot.

I don't know about usps but I have been getting my amazon prime in less than 24 hrs. I ordered something go at 10am yesterday and I was on my porch in the morning.

I went to the post office today. No one was there on line. I was really surprised how empty it was. He said local mail would be delivered today and tomorrow. Then nothing until Tuesday.
