New Years events on LI for kids during the day?
We will be on LI for New Years.
Are there any noontime celebrations geared towards kids?
We now live in the DC area and there are several events here where kids do countowns at noon.
My parents live in Melville/Huntingtonn area but we can drive anywhere on the island or Manhattan.

If you're willing to come east both Childrens Museum of the East End and Safari Adventure are doing events.

Long beach ice arena is having an event from 4-8pm
this is from the long beach website:
Join your friends and neighbors from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm for our 3rd Annual First Night at the Long Beach Ice Arena. This fun, family-friendly event includes ice skating, games, crafts, music, a movie and snack bar specials. There will be a special New Year's Eve Ball Drop at 7:30 pm! We hope to see you there!
Admission is free.

Dave & Buster's has a family New Year's event. It looks fun and reasonably priced. The link is for Westbury but I think all of them are having it.

I'm pretty sure the Cold spring Harbor Whaling Museum is doing a "countdown" from 11 am to 12 pm for New Year's Eve.
I know people who have gone before and said it's really cute.
ETA: I just checked and they are! Starts at 11 am. There's a craft for kids to do too.

New Years events on LI for kids during the day?
I'm doing a rockin new years eve at Gymboree in East Northport which is super close to you guys. I don't know how old your kids are but they have a craft, pizza, open gym and count down until noon.
$30 for non member and then an extra $!5 for each sibling.
We go to gymboree weekly there and the teachers are so fun so it should be a great time.

New Years events on LI for kids during the day?
We've done roller skating at United Skates in Seaford on New Years day, not sure how old your kids are. Bowling alley's usually have events also.
