new or used car if you drive 30K+ miles a year
Just wondering what folks preference would be.. Financing only as due to mileage we would have to get a high mileage lease and that's not necessarily a good financial move

New because if you will be putting that kind of mileage on, you dont' want to start out with something that ALREADY has mileage on it, kwim?
You'll only rack it up faster and before you know it you'll be driving a car with 100K miles on it and things start going wrong
If you buy used, someone will already have gotten the best years out of that car, the warranty, etc.
I'd go new

New.
DH does that type of mileage. So we financed his new truck. Once it's almost paid off , I'll take over and he'll finance a new one. I mainly drive local. I've had my
Truck for 7 years and have put 55k miles on it.
It makes more sense to buy new for that type of mileage for peace of mind

Nervousnell true.. would it make a difference it had low mileage - lets say for sure no more than 50K???
lets even say 25K no more than 3 years old.. does that change ur mind? I am just shooting shit off...

No because the warranty is usually up by then and that is when certain bigger maintenance and other things start happening.
I'd still say new for your situation

If you are going to buy something used I would suggest buying something that was previously leased- many dealers will sell cars off lease with a warranty. Personally, I would (and have) buy something new if you are going to be putting lots of miles on the car.

New because of the warranty and 50 to 80 k is when you need tires and possibly breaks.

This - we bought a certified preowned Honda Pilot with minimal miles on it.
