Has anyone used the motion sickness patch?
I just got a prescription for scopoderm for an upcoming vacation. I was just reading about side effects and am curious if anyone who's used it had side effects either during use or after discontinuing use. Trying to decide if using it is a bad idea.

I had this prescription but never needed it
My FIL has terrible motion sickness. Even gets vertigo often. He uses this for cruises and is perfectly fine.
Side effects don't happen to everyone.

OMG yes!!! I used this on our honeymoon on a cruise! It was awful. Mid trip I was practically blind! I could not see clearly, could not read, etc. It was from the patch. I had to stop using it so I could SEE.

WHAT??? That is effingg scary.
If it's dispersing the same med that is in Dramamine/Boninie than it may make you very tired.
That stuff is SUPER sedating.

That's what I've been reading. I read reviews people posted about their experiences using the patch and this kept coming up.

I had a similar reaction. I used it during a one day fishing trip. The next day I could see things but I could not read anything at all.
Have you looked into those pressure bands you wear on your wrist? I used them at night only during a cruise. It seemed to help but my arms felt so tired it was such an odd feeling.

omg, that patch sounds scary! I have been using Bonine since I was a teen whenever I get on a plane, amusement park rides, etc & it's awesome. It's sold OTC. It lasts 6-8 hours. Can you try the wrist band during the night & maybe the OTC during the day? I have never had a side effect.

Has anyone used the motion sickness patch?
I used to get air sick and was prescribed this as a child. NEVER AGAIN. I thankfully grew out of it but have used sea bands for charter boat trips i have taken and love them!

I am going on a cruise in February and was planning on getting the patch. I didn't realize how bad the side effects were, ha anybody had good experience with the patch or no side effects?

Yes, exactly. It dilated my pupils, it was like I went to the eye doctor and had drops put it. Dr on the ship told me it was a common reaction.
DH had no reactions though. It was a horrible reaction for me.

That would freak me the fuk out!
I get migraines with aura and when the aura hits it messes with my vision big time and it's the scariest thing ever. I'll take the massive headache over that vision aura anytime.

I get horrible motion sickness & had to work on a 9 day cruise from NJ to the Caribbean & back. Rough seas on the way down & back. I took the 24 hour Dramamine pill. One a day, everyday & was totally fine! A lot of people were getting sick around me & I felt great lol
