What do you think of this - tattoo related
I have one tattoo, it is song lyrics from a very meaningful song for me.
It is on my shoulder blade so mostly everyone knows I have it.
One of my friends texts me last night she is going to the same artist who did mine, and she is going to get the same lyrics and a similar design. But she's never even heard the song before
Is this weird? I mean obviously it's her body but I don't know, I think it is weird to do
It's also an old song

While I think it's a little weird, maybe the meaning behind the lyrics - like a poem - spoke to her. I'm curious though to find out why she told you what she was doing. Was it to get a reaction out of you? For permission?

I think that's dumb. I wouldn't want anything permanently added to my body without it having meaning to me. Even my tramp stamp meant something to me. 
I'm curious, what are the lyrics?

She'll have to explain it every time someone sees it.
I want to put the Lyrics to Blackbird on me because they mean something to me and my father who's gone.
Music means different things to different people for different reasons. It doesn't take away or lessen yours. I would just shrug it off and basically say to myself imitation is the highest form of flattery.
ETA: someone actually quoted Lennon to me.. Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans ... like it was SOO meaningful and deep and I was like "you know that's in a song right?" .. NO WAY? Who wrote it like someone cool. "Um, John Lennon, so yeah" What a Beatle..? goes to show.. not everyone understands a song but can love a lyric. They asked what the song was about.. world peace or something. I said no, its a song written to his son.. "Beautiful Boy"
They heard the song and hated it.. but love the Lyric. *shrug*

getting a completely random tattoo = lame
getting a carbon copy of someone ELSE's tattoo = EXTRA lame .....
I am not a tattoo person, but I'd be at that one ........WHY would you do that? It's not like admiring and buying the same pair of shoes ......it's a permanent piece of art on your body - forever !!

It's funny I have song lyrics in my shoulder too... Something that means a lot to me "I know that God exists, I held her in my arms". People have said they like it but no one has ever said they want the same thing. Others may have it if they are fans of the same band but I did it for myself. I'd be put off is someone copied it without knowing anything about it.
