*** computer help needed***
over the last few days, when I try to get online, a warning POPs up saying you might have been infected with a virus and tells me to call some number. I called just to see who the number goes to, and the claim they work with microsoft and would need to have access to my computer via them logging on to see what is going on. They said I must have downloaded or deactivated something.
Has this happened to anyone?? what did you do

I would not trust the number you called.
You probably have a virus or malware do you have any virus/malware program you can run?
ETA: you can't just closed the pop ups and use the internet explorer?
If so clean out your cookies and history through the menu bars if you can there is a manual way you can do this also

SCAM. Don't call that #. Run an anti virus program and re-start your computer.

I ran my program twice yesterday and it told me something suspect came up, it told me to send for debugging, so I did.
I didnt think about cookies, I try that next. thank you
