Reed Judson or Reed Joseph??

we are considering adopting a second little boy from Korea, and are thinking about names.

we're pretty much set on the first name Reed. we like it, and its also FILs middle name.
The little boys name on the agency list is "Judson"- which we like, but DH more than me. I like it, too but think it sounds a little bit too "made up"... i don't know.
OR Joseph. DHs grandfather and uncles names were both Jose.... so Joseph wold honor them.

I really like the name Joseph, but if you still want to incorporate the name Judson, how about Hudson instead?

I was also thinking it sounded made up. But if it's the name on the agency list I would definitely use it.

Since it's the name from the agency and a middle name I would use it.

I know someone who has the middle name "Wonderful". Thankfully middle names rarely get used

Not sure how old the child is, but if he responds to Judson and believes that is his name, that's what I would use.

If Judson is his name now, and what people call him where he lives, I definitely wouldn't get rid of that. Use it as a middle name.

Thanks, guys! i think we decided to go with Joseph the "Judson" is just the name that the agency gave him when the posted his picture on their "waiting child" list. (which probably is why is seems made up-- they probably run out of names to use for all the kids!)
its not what he's being called now. He has a Korean name that he's responding to now... and we thought about using that as his middle name, but we didn't do that for our other son, so we kinda feel bad if we do it for this one...

If it's just a name that the agency gave him and he's never actually been called it, I would definitely go with Joseph. And I like the idea of incorporating his Korean name somehow, even if it's just the initial? Good luck with the adoption process!

Since Judson is not really his name I would go with Joseph - I like the way it sound better.

My nephew who is adopted has a completely different name than what's on his birth certificate. I think it's ok if he's young enough to name him whatever you want.
