Bridal Shower

Need opinions. I am trying to put together a bridal shower for my sister who lives out of state. I found two italian restaurants that have pretty good reviews.

Option 1:
Sunday brunch - Buffet with breakfast and dinner items, carving station, omelette station and waffle station and an assortment of desserts. I can also have them include mimosa and sangria for about 5 bucks pp. Will not have separate dining area but will have our own section in the restaurant.
$10 pp cheaper than Option 2 including mimosa and sangria

Option 2:
Saturday/Sunday Lunch- sit down, 3 option menu which includes an appetizer and dessert. The price just for dessert is $10 pp more without alcohol. There is a $100 room fee and if I decide to do alcohol there is also a $50 bar set up fee. If we order the cake from the bakery they are affiliated with they will waive the cake cutting fee.

I'm kind of leaning towards the buffet because the restaurant got better reviews than sit down plus its cheaper and includes alcohol but I am not sure if people will like a buffet.

I love a brunch buffet, especially with mimosas and sangria. Only drawback to me would be not having a private room.

I like the brunch buffet! Though I guess it would depend on the size of the group/restaurant. I'd prefer a private room but as long as you're given enough space it should be fine.

Re: Bridal Shower

I love a buffet & I think most people do too. If that's the only thing holding you back, I don't think you have to worry. Book it!

100000% buffet.
I hate sit down courses at showers. IMO, the courses make the event feel so long, and you're stuck at the table waiting, rather than being able to talk to friends and family

Re: Bridal Shower

I hate buffets. I like to sit and be served.
I hate waiting on line and piling all kinds if shitt on my plate and it a runs together in a mess and a mismotch of stuff.
It also really makes it easy to overeat and be gluttonous.
And everyone breathing on the food and picking through it. Ugh. Skeeves me.
I prefer sit down affairs

For me about 99 percent true espsially at a party.. I go to certain buffet restaurants, but rarely ..and the ones I go to refresh the food quite often

Re: Bridal Shower

I love brunch showers, but not having your own separate room would be the turn off for me. We recently had my grandmother's 80th birthday at a restaurant and we didn't have a private room and it was very awkward. The other diners were kind of annoyed at the noise level, we were up and moving around the tables which was disruptive, and I felt like we couldn't really enjoy it because there was no privacy. Especially for a shower where there are games, mingling, and presents to open, I would much rather have the lunch with the separate room.
