Baby shower / Bridal shower in the same day...which to go to?
Okey Dokey...dilema....what to do?
Baby Shower is for DH cousin. Within the last 20 months, there was a small engagement party, a bridal shower & wedding. We are not close...we just don't see each other often.
Bridal Shower is for the fiance of DH old friend. DH is in Bridal Party....yet we rarely see these people either. The friend was in our Bridal Party....but I am not "friends" with his fiance (though we are friendly when we are at the same place).

Sad thing is.....I would actually have had a better time at the Bridal Shower because all the girls invited are friends of mine

Well...that's a sticky issue then!
DH's Aunt told me about the baby shower 2 days ago. She has yet to mail the invites.
The Bridal Shower invite came in the mail today.

I would go to whichever one you were going to have a better time at - just send a gift to the other one. If you're not that close with the girl it probably won't be a big deal.
Life is too short to have to do things you don't want to do....

Family over friend.
My own Godmother (aunt) did not attend my bridal shower and instead went to her neighbor's grandkid's communion party even though she was invited a week before...
I mean really neighbor's grandkid's communion???!!!
I have to be honest, I'm still pi$$ed about it and my family and friends were seriously shocked that she wasn't there for me.

Did you go to the family members, engagement, bridal shower and wedding?? I f you went to all those in that small span, I would say skipping one and going to the bridal shower would be ok, and maybe send a small gift for the baby shower.

That was sorta the direction I was leaning in...because yes...I did go to all 3.
I even made the favors for the shower & the wedding because DH aunt asked for some help.
I promised myself I would do what the poll told me to do!! (like the magic 8 ball!) So far it says to do the family thing.
ETA that I was asked for help with the Baby Shower favors as well now.

I totally disagree with the majority. I think you go to the person you are closest with. With all the other events the cousin has-- I think you can sit this one out. Send a gift and go to the bridal shower-- DH is in the wedding-- you should be there.

That would be the easiest way to look at it...except I am not really close with either girl......I am still undecided, but am leaning toward the cousins baby shower because I think my MIL & DH aunt would be disapointed.
But definately appreciate the opinion!!
