Do you have to bring a car seat?
Is it safer?

On a plane? It is safer because of turbulence. If you hit it bad and your kid bounces up and hits their head on the top of the plane they could get hurt. This is how it was explained to us by a friend who's dad is a pilot. However, we are flying next month with two 5 year olds and a 3.5 year old and we are not bringing car seats we are renting them when we get to our destination. On eBay, you can rent child safety harnesses for the planes. I forgot the name of them but they keep the child in their seats and safe if you hit bad turbulence. We are looking into those for our kids.

Thanks! Yes I mean beyond car service back and forth (not far from airport at all we were told they had car seats for us to rent) We dont need a car where were going. Everything is walking distance. So I just wasnt sure if it was a safety thing.
I will look up the harness

I just flew with my 4 year old this week. We did not bring a car seat. He had his seat belt on the entire time. For turbulence it would completely keep him in his seat. My DS is skinny as could be and the seat belt still kept him secure for turbulence. Now if it was say a crash or something it probably would not keep him 100% safe but chances are if it was a crash we would not be safe no matter what.
