Teething HELL
DS is cutting his first tooth and is miserable. I feel so bad. He doesn't eat or nap like he did. Last night I gave Tylenol but I can't keep giving that. What worked for your child?

Teething HELL
Orajel naturals teething gel Hylands teething tablets and gel Baltic Amber teething necklace
When it was really bad we gave dd1 Motrin, but haven't had to give anything to dd2 yet and she's cut two teeth so far. Motrin is a last resort for me.

Orajel Naturals isn't really helping him. Maybe I'll try Hylands.

The amber teething necklace did jack for my son. A few of my friends swear by them but did nothing for us. I used the orajel naturals, or if it was really bad I did the regular orajel. They make a nighttime version too. Also cold teething rings, frozen washcloths, ice in the mesh teething toy thingy. Anything they can chew on to put pressure will help.

Yes me too. I only had to give Motrin a few times along with that.
For the amber necklace to work you have to leave it on and cannot remove it unless bathing. It has to stay heated on the skin. And it builds up. A lot of people use for arthritis pain and whatnot. I swear it works.

Re: Teething HELL
Hylands teething tablets, baby orajel and teething rings. We tried to stay away from tylenol and motrin but some nights were worse than others.

Re: Teething HELL
Tylenol and time!
It typically only hurts for a day or 2 when the tooth first starts to break through. DD was up screaming last night b/c I think her third tooth is about to break through, but I can usually calm her with cuddles. During the day I give a cold teething ring. I expect her tooth to break through in a day or 2 and she should be back to normal. Teething bothered DS much more, so I'd give Tylenol to him.

Teething HELL
I just read some reviews on Hylands and some think it shouldn't be used. There hasn't been any recalls right? I'm about to pick some up tonight bc he's really miserable.

It's because it contains a very small amount of belladonna which in large doses in a hallucinogen. It was reformulated a few years ago and now either has none or an even smaller amount. The amount cannot cause hallucinations. I used it to much success (my dd loved it). And she always calmed down after I gave her.
Try to teething necklace too! Amazon prime it. With that combo I barely have Motrin. Anytime I forgot to put the necklace on I noticed she got whiny and would pull at her mouth. Would put it back on and Magic!

Re: Teething HELL
be careful with hylands. I bought them, then read some distuburbing side effects from them. never used them, I won't give them to my son after what i read.
tylenol! it should only be really bad for a couple of days, even atleast give to him before bed to help him sleep through it.

Re: Teething HELL
How old? Old enough for infant motrin? It works 10 times better than Tylenol for teething because it's an anti-inflammatory.
