My brother and SIL are planning a family trip to Disney at the end of the year. In my head I thought it would be great to try to find a hotel with a small outdoor water park near Disney. Anyone know if something like that exists?

Not small but IMO def affordable is Orange Lake. They have 1-3 bedroom units so you have a full kitchen. THey have different pool areas and one has a lazy river with slide and another one has pool with a slide. We stayed for a week and only did Disney one day. Kept busy at the resort. And tons of other things nearby and Disney is only a few miles at most.

I did this. Stayed at a great place but we weren't on site and it is a PITA to get to magic kingdom. You drive. Then you park farrrr away and get onto a trolley someone is driving which takes you to the monorail. However one day we were so early and the monorail wasn't running yet so we crammed cattle car into a boat.

If I ever went back to Disney I would definitely stay on site. If you're going for just one day it won't matter. But if it's a Disney vacation I would stay on site.

Yes, this exactly, such a pain!

Many of the Disney hotels have smallish water features. The Yacht and Beach Club has an amazing sandy bottom pool with a couple of slides. The Grand Floridian has a cute Alice and Wonderland themed water area with slides and buckets.

As for off site hotels...Marriott's Harbour Lakes is great, they have two pool areas close to the rooms that don't require you to get into a car to drive to unlike a lot of the resorts in the area.

Coco Key is also there, never stayed, but looks inexpensive and updated, and the waterpark looks fun
