Anyone not do Easter baskets? Alternatives?
I loved my basket as a kid but my kids are being raised interfaith so I'm trying not to go overboard. Plus, I don't want to fill it with lots of candy out more little trinkets. What could I do to celebrate but keep it low key?

Not sure how old your kids are but last year we did a Minnie bucket and stuffed it with outdoor toys such as a bathing suit, swim shoes, sunglasses, bubbles, chalk, etc.
This year for my nephews I'm doing a sand pail and filling if with all outdoor stuff with a chocolate bunny.

I don't like to do a ton of candy either, they get more then enough from DHs family. It's seriously like Halloween #2. I usually do a theme basket- usually it's new outdoor stuff since we dump most if it at the end of summer. Things like sidewalk chalk, bubbles, beach towel, sunblock, pool/beach toys, sprinkler. You could also do a book theme- maybe an Easter book and a Passover book, another book, some coloring books, new crayons/markers, etc...

I do a bucket with one small toy or a book and some snacks that they like (that I would buy anyway - goldfish, etc).

I have never given my kids an Easter basket. All we do is fill those plastic eggs up around the house & they go on a hunt. They love it. I fill them up with chocolates, stickers, & some type of blind bag toy.

I don't think there is anything about filling an Easter basket with goodies that screams Jesus If it's the actual basket that you don't love, like PP's said, buckets are an option, or a sandpail...
I think most people go with springtime trinkets, bubbles, jumprope, sidewalk chalk.. all very un-religious

I saw in FB group I'm in someone took a kid sized umbrella and opened it and filled the umbrella with everything. Chalk, bubbles, kite, sunglasses, bathing suit etc..

You can even do some sort of a tote, or beach bag to get ready for the summer. I use an Easter basket but don't fill it with any candy.
