10 month old with big appetite?

Anyone else have one/had one? DD has always been on the higher end of the growth chart. At 9 months she was 21.8lbs, which put her in the 89th-91st percentiles. She came home from the hospital as a newborn drinking 3-4oz per bottle (those Similac nursette bottles were like shot glasses for her!) Now, at meal times, she eats a lot (or at least I feel like she does). She's down to 3 bottles a day (morning, afternoon, night) and drinks a sippy cup with water throughout the day. In addition to the bottles, she eats a full meal at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For dinner tonight, she had a bunch of raviolis and an entire banana. Last night, she ate a whole grilled cheese sandwich and a big handful of blueberries. I don't put the food down all at once on the tray, but instead little by little and when she's finished with what she has, she usually starts banging on the tray, and I give her more. I feel like she would just eat and eat. Anyone else have a child like this? Just curious.

Dd loved food at that age and as long as it was healthy I gave to her. My dr said always feed till full. Now at almost 3 she occasionally has full meals. The only time she goes crazy with food is when she going into a growth spurt.

My DD has always been a huge eater. She's 3 now and tries to be a little pickier and would rather eat snacks all day instead of meals, but she still chows down, people are always shocked at how much she eats. And she eats EVERYTHING. All fruits, veggies, meats, cuisines. She loves all the things and has since we started solids at 7mo. She, however, is super tiny. She's only 26lbs (5th percentile) and not quite 36" (also 5th percentile). She's been in the 5th or lower percentile since birth, so she's just tiny, despite eating more than me. She would eat 24 hrs a day if we let her. I wish I had her metabolism!

Sounds like DS! He's seriously eating us out of house and home. At daycare they often have to call the kitchen to request more food for him because he will SCREAM at them for more food, or just refuse to move from the high chair or climb back into it.

My older DS has always been a huge eater. He's been hungry since the day he was born! I remember when he was 5 months old he ate an entire sweet potato himself in one sitting and was trying to get more... and he has been the same since. Now at 2.5yo he eats more than I do. Every meal involves several bowls/plates of food... sometimes I run out of ideas for stuff to give him. His appetite is crazy! He's tall & solid, not a skinny kid but not chubby either. I give him a lot of vegetables, fruits & other healthy stuff to fill him up. And he moves around a lot so he burns it off I guess! But he's the bottomless pit since day 1.

My older DS was like that. He could just eat and eat. He's 9 now and still a big eater. He's a solid kid, but not heavy or overweight by any stretch. I say feed until she's full, just make sure she's filling up on healthy stuff and keep treats a treat.

I wish! Both my kids are terrible eaters. Enjoy it!
