How big is your 3 month old?
Mine is almost 13 pounds!! He loves to eat lol! My ped suggested giving him water between bottles- anyone else have this issue? He was 6 lbs and 12 ounces at birth.

My son was just under 13 lbs at 1 month old. I don't think you should be giving water yet. My ped said no water til 6 months old and even then only 2 oz per day. be careful because too much water can be dangerous at that age! seach on google for infant water intoxication.

Mine was 14.1 at 3 months and one week.
How tall is he? Mine is 24.5 inches and the ped said nothing.

Well, I am not a dr, but he doesn't sound too big at all. Numbers are similar to my DDs. My oldest DS was huge as you can see with the numbers below and ped never mentioned anything about water. Just keep doing what your doing!
DS#1 was 16 lbs 13 oz (just under 3 months)
DD was 12 lbs at 2.5 months. 14 lbs 14 oz at 4 months.
DS#2 was 11 lbs 1 oz at 2.5 months. 13 lbs 13 oz at 4 months.

DS was over 17lbs at 3 months old and 19lbs at 4 months old. I didn't give water until 6 months.

same here. At three months DD was a little less than 12 lbs and 24.5 inches long. I was told that it was a bit underweight but no cause for alarm because of how long she is.

im figuring ds is over 15/16 lbs already and he was born 7.1
so funny how diff peds say diff things.. mine did suggest water in btwn feedings. (said the kidneys are fully functional at this age) but u have to do what u feel is right - me personally i give water in btwn feedings.. gave it to my older ds when he was an infant and give it now to ds 2

Well technically mine is 4 mos today, but at her 3 mo visit she was just about 25 in and 14.5 lbs. 90 %-ile for both. I have 2 boys and at 3 mos both were 16lbs and 26 in (again 90 %ile).
Never said anything about giving water. I never did with this baby yet. I may have with my 2nd child only because he was colic - - -real bad - - - and when he had bad fits he wanted to eat and to hold hm off when he wasn't suppose to eat we'd give him a few sips of water to try to calm down. Also helped his constipation a little.

My son is 13lbs 6 oz...sounds like your baby is totally fine...personally, I would not give water this early.
