If you had Gestational Diabetes...
Did you have to take the glucose test again after you gave birth?

No. They tested my sugars in the hospital a few times after I had my kids and everything was fine. My GD went away right after my kids were born, it was immediate. I followed up with my endo a few weeks after they were born but they didn't make me do another glucose tolerance test.

I was told to have my A1C tested after birth, but never did. I just went for my annual and my obgyn wants me to do it, just in case...my ds is almost 2.5 now!

I had an A1C done after having GD a second time, which is a simple blood draw that has nothing to do with drinking the sugar drink and waiting around. Mine came back normal but it's not a bad idea to get checked.
Also, they never had me do another finger stick after my kids were delivered. I thought it was odd but they said I didn't need to and I was glad to be done with it!

Same. They did check my a1c in the beginning of my 2nd pregnancy but it came back normal.

I actually went to my primary physician for a full physical and she did full bloodwork and said it was fine.

I did. He was born October, and I was retested in December through bloodwork though, not the drink. They did tell me that breastfeeding could help a lot, and even mask it, so I should have gone back after he weaned, but I never did.

They did not. I was told to check my morning sugars and I did for about a week and there were no issues. They also told me to have my primary dr check my a1c levels so I when I go for my next physical I will mention it.
