"Being a mom without a mom"
As I'm laying down on my bed with my 2 little ones, I stumbled on this beautiful article that touched every single string of my heart and brought tears to my eyes. And to think that yesterday would have been my mom's birthday

Re: "Being a mom without a mom"
I am so sorry
I don't have a mother either but it is a bit different, it was her choice. She left our family when I was 12 because she decided she wanted a different life. Now having my own son, if anything good came of it, it has taught me more about the kind of mother I want to be every day, and how I would want him to remember me as he ages. It's definitely not easy at times and I can't imagine how hard it must be for you having that loss.

Hugs to all of us Motherless Moms My Dad is gone too so it's even tougher..
Sometimes I find it hard to relate to other mom's who have their moms since they will never understand what I go through on a daily basis

Re: "Being a mom without a mom"
I hate being in the "mom without a mom" club. It really sucks.
My sister is about to join this club too and I can't even be there when she has the baby because she is across the country. I am glad that our dad will be there with her.
Getting married without my mom was tough but having kids and seeing them grow up without her breaks my heart every day.

Re: "Being a mom without a mom"
I lost my mom 10 days before my first child was born. When he was born, I was still very much grieving and the first few months of his life were so hard for me. I feel like I missed out on the newborn stage because I was in a fog. Even now that I'm out of the fog, I miss her every day and wish so much she was here. When I see other women out with their moms, I feel so envious. Becoming a mom without having my own mom has been the hardest thing I've ever experienced.

Re: "Being a mom without a mom"
It saddens me reading ur stories . Someone once told me to not think of my mother as someone that passed away but see her as a guardian angel that will look after me for the rest of my life and although that made me feel better (and still does), knowing that I can't see her smile, or feel her soft hands touching my face, or enjoy her cooking as much as she did, breaks my heart all over again. Not to count that that my little ones won't ever be able to get to know her and call her "mami Leonor" saddens me deeply
Many hugs to all of us mommies without a mom

Re: "Being a mom without a mom"
I lost my mom when I was 26, 6 months before I was married. It is all very difficult from seeing moms at the wedding dress store helping their DDs to seeing grandparents at all of the kids activities.
14 years later (she died in December) doesn't getting easier.
