Cheering Up A Friends After the Death of Parent
My best friend lost her mother to cancer about 6 weeks ago. She has been feeling very down lately and I would like to do something(s) to cheer her up. I text/talk to her almost every day, took her out to dinner a few weeks ago, but with two small kids and working full time I admittedly haven't done much else. I am going with her to register for baby stuff in a couple of weeks as she is 5 months pregnant and we'll probably have brunch that day.
Any ideas of what I could do to help her feel less lonely , even just small gestures to help cheer her up?
Thanks!

Just be there for her. You sound like a great friend she's lucky to have.

Just be there for her. Don't forget her. Call her. Text. Talk. KNOWING you are there is big in and of itself.

It sounds like you have been there for her. Just continue to do that. And if she wants to talk about her mother, let her. If you knew her mother and have any stories or memories of her mother, share them - talking about her mother will not make her feel worse. Hearing nice stories or memories is a good thing for someone who lost someone important to them

You are already doing it by being there.
When my mom died, it took a long time to feel cheered up. Nothing could make me happy although DH and friends tried.
