Show me your toy storage system/furniture

In our new house we have a room that we'll be using as a playroom temporarily. DS has so many toys and a lot of them have small pieces, like Legos and action figures. I need to find a way to store them all without it becoming messy. I'd love some ideas of how everyone stores their kid's toys. I'm thinking of something similar to the Ikea Trofast storage system. I'd like something with either cubbies or shelves with bins that he can easily reach and pull out on his own. But also something that doesn't look too junky.

Re: Show me your toy storage system/furniture

A few of these Target- but we lay it on it's side so it's horizontal- not as tall

Then I use the canvas storage bins to go in some of the cubes for small toys and pieces

And it's still a hot mess in there, but I tried!

We have 2 of these next to each other with several bins. Everything is still all over the floor every day but it does help!

This is what we do as well.

For Legos, we have an Ikea table for him to play on and use Rubbermaid bins.

same here!

I looked at the storage cubes they have at IKEA as well. they are more like sliding drawers made with big plastic tubs. I thought they were a good option as well.

we also have a closet in our playroom so I opted for a Rubbermaid closet organizer with one side pull out drawers and one side shelves.

I feel like I've spent so much time and money on organization and I am never happy with how the playroom looks. but the kids are happy Chat Icon

We have 3 of these. We rotate the toys to keep it from getting cluttered and keep things new. These look taller than the ones we have. The ones we have our DD can reach all the shelves to.

We have 3 of these and we use them as book shelves. Put 3-4 books on each and rotate them out often.

I find it more enjoyable to rotate toys to keep them new. I get small baskets for toys that have a lot of parts to keep them all together.

We are going to go with the IKEA Kallax system. We're going to buy two in white and like Nervous Nell, lay them on their side. They have baskets for it too. I didn't order it online because it must be really heavy. The shipping was more than the cost of the system!

Its a standard shipping cost, they dont use fedex or UPS. Its a company they hire to deliver all their stuff.

I have 6 items in my ikea cart now and shipping is $139. But when i had 1 item it was $139 also.

We have the first one pictured. I like it and it holds a lot more than I expected. We got it at target and I just saw it on cartwheel this morning.

Planning to get the cube shelves nell posted once we finish our playroom.

Re: Show me your toy storage system/furniture

We have the IKEA Trofast System in his playroom.

http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/categories/series/19027/

I got the all white ones and have about 6 of them all lined up on the wall, the 2 ends are taller and we put a flat screen in the middle. I dont have a pic, but it looks really good and keeps the toys so organized.
