What to get babysitter for holidays?
Thinking ahead here. She watches them all week and is great.
I can't afford a week pay/holiday bonus. But would like to get her nice gift. I don't know anything that she's into - we have a pretty professional relationship. So I wouldn't know what her local favorite restaurant is or anything.
Any ideas?

I usually do a small gift (ie this year I am doing a vera bradley tote) and then a visagift card. I know she needs the $ though. I don't do a weeks pay.

I know you said you can't afford a week pay, but I'd give her cash or a Visa/Amex gift card. I'm sure she'll appreciate the money, regardless of the amount.

A small gift from the kids to go with a gift card. I'm a nanny myself. I appreciate the money!

Cash, no matter the amount. I do that and an ornament for all of dd's daycare teachers and they always tell me how much they appreciate it.

Re: What to get babysitter for holidays?
MONEY! lol. When i worked at my old preschool parents would just give me small knicknacks (like candles or Christmas themed things) & i always appreciated the sentiments, but it really just kinda cluttered my house. Lol. Once i started my home daycare, money was always better even if it wasn't much. Even just a starbucks GC was cool to get. I'd keep it simple. Last year the moms pitched in to get me a massage GC because they felt like i worked hard with their kids & deserved pampering. Soooo sweet. But i hate massages & the gift kinda went to waste. I wish they just gave me the money instead so that i could have just used it however I chose.

Ok cool. What's the gift card that's no fee? I don't like the ones that charge you a fee
