Fasting overnight before surgery
If your baby ever had to fast overnight before surgery or a procedure, how did you help soothe them? Our 10w old has to fast overnight for a procedure and I am not looking forward to this at all!!

do you breastfeed? you can bf later than real food, so I fed dd in the middle of the night at the last time i could... and then in the morning between waking up and the surgery she had a pacifier.

dd is formula fed. dr said nothing after midnight but I saw a sign about 7 hours prior to surgery, i'll have to confirm when the hospital calls. either way its still going to be a nightmare

No advice, just . My guess is it will be a rough night, but you'll get through it. I'd do a feed right before midnight to help get through the night. Does your baby take a paci? The sucking sometimes helps to distract.
I hope the surgery goes well!

Def speak with your ped. Maybe if you do a bottle with even just a little water in it.
