Re: Question for stepparents
My stepson never really was into sports heavy. But I did go to his Tae Kwon Doe Tournaments & his graduation ceremonies, and a few of his childhood bday parties. I went because it was important for me to be there for SS & DH. I really also had minimal issues with SS mom.

Question for stepparents
Not on that side of the coin but yeah, ideally they should. It's a package deal and good for the kids.

Re: Question for stepparents
My son's SM and SD both go to his sports games. His SM even attends most of his practices as well.

Question for stepparents
Yes, I always go to his events. My SS and I have a very close relationship and it means a lot to him for me to be there and show my support for him. In the beginning, his mother didn't mind but once DH and I got engaged, her attitude towards me changed and now she hates me. But, I would not let her preference that I not go stop me because I know it means a lot to my SS for me to be there.(and he now lives with DH and me full time - by his own choice - so, I think it's even more important for him to know that I want to be involved in his life)

Question for stepparents
my son just took his Krav Maga belt test this past Saturday and his step mom came. As much as I don't like the woman it's important she be included in DS's life.

Re: Question for stepparents
Neither of us are remarried yet but have both been in long term relationships and our SOs both came to everything they could. That's important to them.

Question for stepparents
My step parents didn't come to much. Maybe a few things over the years.
My DH doesn't go to DD1 activities, but he's usually home with DS and DD2. If I asked him he probably would. But I've also never asked.

Question for stepparents
I go to everything I can go to for my SS and my DH goes to everything of my dd's (his SD) he can. Sometimes we have to divide and conquer with their often conflicting schedules but when the kids can be at each other's events we make that happen too.
