What happens in NY state after an individual exceeded their unemployment benefits and is still unable to find employment?

I don't think they grant extensions individually. At times the govt offers it for longer periods.

No, there is only an extension of benefits if the government decides to grant one for everyone.
The only other programs you could apply for would be welfare type programs.

Unemployment
I was let go in 2009 when the economy was in the shltter and unemployment was very high. They kept extending it and I could have collected for over a year if I never got a job. But the gift only does that when the unemployment rate is high and even then it has to get approved. It's ona widescale, not individual basis
