what are the signs to start potty training?
Ds is 2 years old and I thought he was showing signs to start potty training (removing his diaper, sitting on his potty, etc.) But as soon as I sit him down he does nothing. Are there any guides that someone can recommend. I'm so nervous about potty training I think I'm stressing myself out. I'm due with DC2 in Nov so I'm hoping to start training sooner rather than later. TIA

My DD is 27 months and I'm also due with #2 in November. I am on the third day of the 3 day method. I've thought DD has been ready since like January. I've just been too nervous to do it, lol. She's been doing well and started telling me she had to go yesterday afternoon. I don't have an email copy, but plenty of people on here have it and can send it to you.

IMO, the kid needs to be able to communicate with you.
When they are potty trained, they will have to tell you they are going to need to go.
DD said pee pee when she saw the potty & I trained her the next 3 day weekend I had.

Basically, you need to focus on your DC for the full 3 days. You put them in a shirt and just underwear. You pump them full of liquids and watch their signs of having to go. You need to catch the accidents and run them to potty. Celebrate all successes, whether partial or full. You also keep reminding them to tell you when they need to go potty. My DD seemed to get it by the end of day 2. By day 3 they should be trained for pee, poop, naps, and nighttime. Nighttime seemed to be stressing my DD out, so I put her back in pull ups for just nighttime, even though she was waking dry. I will have to revisit later. Overall I think it was pretty successful.

Great, thank you so much. I guess I'll have to wait a few more months since he doesn't quite understand. I'll probably try again once I've had dc2 in Nov.
